“I stayed close to home so my parents could visit.”

The types of conversations I had with my parents about college — a large part of it had to do with money. They were telling me how much money they made and how much they had saved up. My parents wanted to see me a lot, and so I realized that I would need to attend school somewhere really close by. My parents come and visit me every now and again; they bring food, they cook food at the residence that I'm living in. I think that's also enjoyable for them — to see where I'm living, how I'm living, if everything's fine — and just to keep tabs on me [laughs].
